By foot or by ski, in the rain or the blazing heat, at midnight or in the morning, Hailey will go wherever necessary to get the shot.

Hailey Hoffman Gram is a (recently) Chicago-based freelance visual journalist. She can photograph, produce video and write and is interested in covering topics related to education, religion and the environment.

She holds degrees in Visual Journalism and Spanish from Western Washington University. After graduation, she moved to Astoria, Oregon, to work for the Astorian as a visual journalist. She covered the onset of the coronavirus pandemic and other small community news from all over the Oregon Coast for two years. In 2021, she returned to Bellingham, Washington, to help launch Cascadia Daily News. Over the course of three years, she helped revitalize a news desert by providing quality photography, producing video and writing for the online-daily, print-weekly publication.
Her work has also been featured in The Seattle Times, Crosscut, The Oregonian, Our Coast magazine, 1859 magazine and many other publications in the Northwest. She attended the 2024 Missouri Photo Workshop and her work has been honored by the National Headliner Awards, the Society of Professional Journalists and the Washington Newspaper Publisher's Association.

When not working, Hailey enjoys spending time with her husband, traveling, skiing, hiking, cooking, crocheting and making pottery.

She is available for photo and writing assignments in Chicago, the greater Midwest and beyond.
