Hailey is a Pacific Northwest based multimedia journalist currently working for the Cascadia Daily News in Bellingham, Washington. She takes photos, shoots video and writes — whatever is needed, when it's needed. She helped launch the publication in 2022, with the goal of revitalizing visual storytelling in a news desert.
She has degrees in Visual Journalism and Spanish from Western Washington University. While a student, she interned as a photographer with the Skagit Valley Herald based in Mount Vernon, Washington. After graduation, she moved to Astoria, Oregon, to work for the the Astorian as a visual journalist. She covered the onset of the coronavirus pandemic and other small community news from all over the Oregon Coast for two years.
Her work has also been featured in The Seattle Times, Crosscut, The Oregonian, Our Coast magazine, 1859 magazine and many other publications in the Northwest.
Originally from Las Vegas, Hailey has grown to love the rain, the mountains and the ocean and spends much of her free time exploring with her husband.
